Postdoctoral Fellow, Pediatric Neuropsychology
The Dirksen Center for Neurobehavioral Health (DCN) invites applications for postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric neuropsychology.
Fellows typically complete 2-4 assessments per week, depending on level of training, and conduct all parts of the assessment from initial parent interview/history through feedback session and report writing. At least one hour of weekly individual supervision is required; more supervision is available as needed and encouraged. Didactic components depend on the needs/interests of the trainee but typically include review of neurodevelopment and behavior, neuroanatomy, literature reviews specific to clinical cases, frequent discussion of ethics and for those interested, an introduction to the business of running a practice.

Postdoctoral Fellow, Child Psychology
Fellows work in a traditional outpatient setting as well as a pediatric primary care setting. Case load varies, but fellows carry 10-12 cases depending on the frequency and type of treatment. In addition to individual and family therapy, fellows complete 1 comprehensive assessment each week. Assessment includes developmental and neuropsychological evaluations for patients with a variety of medical conditions as well as referrals pertaining to ASD, ADHD, developmental delay, or learning disorder without underlying medical factors.

Clinical Neuropsychologist (Pediatric or Lifespan)
The Dirksen Center for Neurobehavioral Health (DCN) seeks a licensed (or immediately license-eligible in IL) Pediatric or Lifespan Neuropsychologist to provide neuropsychological assessments to children, adolescents, and young adults. Neuropsychologists currently work alongside pediatricians and DCN child psychologists to provide outpatient assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults in our main office in Arlington Heights, IL.

Pre-Doctoral trainees and Practicum students
The main focus of the neuropsychology practicum is to provide doctoral students in clinical psychology experience with neuropsychological assessment with a variety of clinical presentations. The student will learn a variety of neuropsychological and psychological tests, discuss how data relate to medical/neurologic status, obtain clinical experience with various patient populations and ages, hone report writing skills, and draft appropriate recommendations treatment and educational planning. Additionally, the student will have the option of participating in an early developmental clinic, which runs twice monthly, for assessment of children ages 18 months – 4 years.
The student will be trained in the standardized assessment of a variety of neuropsychological instruments and will participate in test selection, clinical interview, test administration, interpretation of data, report writing, and feedback under the supervision of one or more of our clinical neuropsychologists.
